A bunch of volunteers got together years ago and decided to keep the art of kite making going. It's a good thing and has been going strong for 7 years now. The image above was a low flying but very good little kite!
I just wish I would have been a bit more on top of my game with the photography. I got some good shots but not nearly the volume I should have gotten for the time spent there. I did get to connect to some more folks around here though. And that was time well spent. This was the 7th Annual Hopkins Village Kite Festival. Most of the kids showed up ready to go. The materials were thin long sticks of unknown origin, crepe paper, newspaper, good old fashioned white glue and string.
